| Thursday: There’s a new Lost? How could I not know that? I guess that just shows how often we choose the Discovery channel over local networks. Friday: Yeah, I got an Interlibrary Loan of basic corset making! Could I make a corset by next Saturday for Faire? Probably not. Will I have any reason to wear one the rest of the year? No. I best make something simple and fix up my old garb. Ah, and I have to come up with a costume for D because there is no way I am dressing up and she isn’t. Daddy and S will wear normal clothes.
After being good since Wednesday, S tried to bite his teacher today. She was wiping his face off after they had played outside. He doesn't like that, but biting is now completely inexcusable. He missed watching Scooby Doo with the rest of the boys. And he knew why. That's the big thing with discaplining autistic kids. It is very hard to make them understand exactly what they are getting punished for. That connection and understanding is hard. Next week will be better. Saturday: Cleaning, Cleaning. Quilting, Quilting. I went to Joanne’s and priced plastic boning- $2.99 a yard. The tight weave twill suggested for a corset- $12.99 a yard. 16 yards of boning and 1 yard of fabric, plus finding, and assorted stuff = ugghhh. Why do I like such expensive things? Why must I have things made the right way? It would be so much easier to be happy with crap. Sunday: I went to clean my parent’s house and got to see them get ready to go. They had a luncheon and then Dad went to Nashville for a conference. Mom really wanted to go with him, but she would have been stuck in the hotel room doing homework, but she wouldn’t have had to go to work. I think she should have scheduled to go and stayed at home to do homework. Then I came home and helped D clean her room. She has finally let me convince her that she has outgrown the kitchen set. She has, she never plays with it. She kept out 1 set of dishes, and the fresh vegetables. The lettuce leaves are what her stuffed crabbit likes to eat. We sorted everything into plastic boxes (the toys kept), card board boxes (toys to donate), and trash (2 full bags). We were both sneezy and red eyed, but we got to vacuuming. I have been trying to convince her that a clean room = less trouble breathing. She just needed someone to help her figure out what to do. I didn’t realize she didn’t know how to clean her room. It seems so simple: sort and put it up. Tomorrow I took the day off because the kids are out of school. Maybe we will tackle her closet. The government economic check should go in our account tomorrow, so I will be able to get my car fixed this week. New axles, brakes serviced, inspection, oil. I’m very excited. |
